Dr. Angela Chambers is an internist with East Texas family values dedicated to putting the needs and well-being of her patients first. Although she was born in Midland, Texas, Dr. Chambers has been a Tylerite since the first grade where she attended W.A. Peete and T.J. Austin Elementary Schools, Boulter Middle School and graduated from John Tyler High School in 1986. In 1990, Dr. Chambers received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She successfully completed medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 1996.
After a three year Internal Medicine residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Chambers joined the HealthFirst Flower Mound Medical Group in a suburb of Dallas. A true entrepreneur at heart and longing to be of service at home, Dr. Chambers began her solo Internal Medicine practice, Angela N. Chambers, M.D., P.A., in Tyler in January 2001. Solo practice is truly the fruition of her dreams and years of hard work.
The best is yet to come. Dr. Chambers is currently reviewing plans to build her own medical office complex where her own practice and other primary care physicians may continue to benefit the people in our community and East Texas.
The daughter of Patricia Stansell Barrett, Dr. Chambers is also the proud mother of her constant inspiration, her own daughter, Brianica. A member of the Kingdom Family Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Smith County Medical Society, Dr. Chambers works diligently in service to others. Her other accomplishments include a 1998 publication in Occupational Environmental Medicine and her appointment as East Texas Medical Center Department of Medicine Section Chair in 2003.
On achieving goals, Dr. Chambers credits her life motto: Stay determined, have confidence and have no "plan B"; knowing that through Jesus Christ all things are possible!
